Christie Antique Show turns twenty-five this year!
The Christie Antique Show returns again this year to the Christie Lake Conservation Area on Saturday May 25, 2013. This popular show has been drawing dealers and buyers from all over Canada since 1988. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the show and Hamilton Conservation Authority expects it to be the best show to-date.
Hundreds of Canada’s top antique dealers and collectors display and sell an unparalleled variety of treasures. With 10 acres of vintage items waiting to be discovered, there are items to please both the novice and the most experienced collector. Furniture, architectural antiques, stoneware, Native artifacts, folk art, rugs, jewelry, sports memorabilia, scientific instruments, textiles, cut glass and more. If you can imagine it, you can find it in one of the 1,200 collecting categories featured at the show.
Other features of the show include free parking, disabled parking and dog parking areas, with shuttle services between the parking areas and the show field. The show field itself is licensed for the sale of beer and wine. Patrons can buy refreshments and support local service clubs at the new refreshment tent located near the food court. Since the entire show field is licensed, patrons may take drinks with them while shopping.
For everyone’s enjoyment, tempting menu choices are available from a wide range of outdoor food vendors. ATM’s are on site for patrons who require cash, and a free delivery service from dealers to the pick-up tent is available. Visitors receive a free tote bag and goodies with every completed visitor survey (500 available, first come, first serve). Full-service washrooms with running water are located in the Beach Pavilion and portable toilets are located around the show field.
Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy all that the Christie Lake Conservation Area has to offer: swimming, boating, picnic areas, 10 kilometres of nature trails and a championship 18-hole disc golf course; all included in the show’s admission price.
The spring show runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday May 25, 2013, rain or shine. Admission is $10 per person. Buy your tickets here. Due to the valuable nature of items on display, no pets are allowed on the show field.
